"Versatile's program is the best one on Project Management I've ever seen. It's the first class I found to be valuable for the content and presentation. They take a full project management training program and condense it into 2 intense days of rock-solid learning."

2. Microsoft Project Curriculum for Microsoft Project 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2007

  • MMP-151 Microsoft Project 2007 Professional
Learn to use this powerful tool to manage projects. Build plans, create resource-leveled schedules, establish baselines, produce status reports and make clear task assignments. Project managers and team leaders will learn the features of this tool while following the same five-step planning method taught in our Principles of Project Management course. This presentation begins with the basic concepts and leads participants through all the functions they'll need to plan and manage a small to medium-sized project. This 2-day course is loaded with tips for making the most practical use of this tool!

  • MMP-251 Microsoft Project 2007 Server for the Project Manager
Microsoft Project Server 2007 offers expanded communication and project management capabilities to project-driven organizations. Microsoft Project is no longer used exclusively by the project manager, but by various people in different roles that relate to the project differently. A team member might want to see the project SharePoint and use it as a communications tool, updating tasks, reviewing control documents, identifying and resolving issues and risks. Likewise, an executive might want to analyze a portfolio of projects that are managed by several project managers in their department, and play what if games with resources, or analyze their portfolio to determine which projects are doing well and which are in trouble. A resource manager might want to take responsibility for assigning their direct reports to projects based on skill matching and availability, and provide an additional level of timecard authorization. The project manager can leverage the power of the project server to gain visibility into and manage all of their projects from the same Web interface.
