IT Governance
Information Technology (IT) organizations are under tremendous pressure to
provide business value and excellent service to their internal and external
customers. IT IT Governance not only delivers on these objectives, but, when
applied correctly, can reduce both costs and risks in proven, measurable ways.
SQLSoft+'s IT Governance curriculum offers training in Microsoft's Operations
Framework (MOF), Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), the IT Infrastructure
Library (ITIL), as well as a Peer Mentoring class that has been used by Microsoft
to train over 2,000 of its own employees.
Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF)
Built on top of the widely accepted, vendor neutral model of the IT
Infrastructure Library (ITIL), MOF addresses how IT supports business needs
through management of people, process and risk resulting in a service-oriented
IT culture. The business value for our customers is as IT staff are introduced
to the concept and practice of MOF, they become focused on efficiency and high
services levels as core IT objectives.
The early phases of a MOF implementation include an envisioning
phase, which includes the delivery of the MOF Essentials class to key decision
makers, followed by a MOF assessment, in which a company will learn the operational
strengths and weaknesses of the IT organization, along with a high level, prioritized
mitigation plan.
The next phase of a MOF engagement usually includes additional training based
on the results of the MOF assessment, as well as more detailed project plans
for the mitigation process. For instance, if change management has been determined
to be an area a company wants to improve, Microsoft’s Change Quadrant
class, along with a more detailed mitigation plan are the next steps.

Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF)
MSF has been designed and improved based on IT Governance from Microsoft Consulting Services and Microsoft partners over the last
10+ years. MSF provides proven practices for planning, building, and deploying
a variety of technology solutions. Because of its structure around basic models
(Process and Team) and its use of guiding principles, MSF can be used not only
for software design and development, but also for building and deploying infrastructure. These
aspects are combined into a single project lifecycle for guiding technology
solutions. MSF helps IT and its related business achieve a delicate balance
of flexibility while meeting commitments; speed while minimizing risk.
MSF and MOF together provide a framework for a complete technology lifecycle
that provides a prescriptive path for IT lifecycle deployment and management.

ITIL Foundations
The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a well established, vendor neutral
framework originally developed in the UK
to document IT IT Governance in a vendor neutral manner.. Over the years it
has expanded into a series of books and curricula that continues to provide
descriptive guidance on IT IT Governance. Microsoft has adopted ITIL practices
internally and has adapted the ITIL framework to create the Microsoft Operations
Framework, which give more prescriptive guidance on IT operations using the
Microsoft platform.
Course KS-100 - ITIL Foundations:
This course is a two day course that teaches the vocabulary and the essential
